Tajik Defense Minister meet Field Marshal Asim Munir

RAWALPINDI: Tajikistan’s Minister of Defense, Colonel General Sabirzada Imam Ali Abdurahim, called on Pakistan’s Field Marshal and Chief of Army Staff Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi. Both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security and the ongoing defense cooperation between Pakistan and Tajikistan.

According to ISPR, the two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration in military training, counterterrorism operations, intelligence sharing and regional security initiatives. Field Marshal Asim Munir emphasized the importance of joint efforts for regional stability, enhanced connectivity and long-term peace. He reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to expand defense and security cooperation with Tajikistan.

The Tajik defense minister acknowledged the professional excellence of the Pakistan Army, appreciating its role in promoting peace, stability and counterterrorism efforts in the region. He expressed Tajikistan’s desire to further deepen military and strategic partnership with Pakistan.

During the meeting, both sides also reviewed the evolving situation in Afghanistan, security dynamics in Central Asia and the need for coordinated regional responses. They agreed to work together on border security, information sharing and initiatives aimed at strengthening regional peace.

Field Marshal Asim Munir noted that Pakistan strongly believes in mutual collaboration for regional prosperity, adding that strengthened Pakistan–Tajikistan defense ties will contribute significantly to regional harmony. The meeting marks an important milestone in enhancing bilateral military relations and expanding strategic cooperation between the two countries.
